Room 7's Kiwiana Museum

This term for our Inquiry we looked at Home grown and what makes New Zealand so unique. Room 7 began by looking at the Kiwiana museum in Otorohanga and the icons that they had displayed down there. We then worked in pairs and chose an icon that we wanted to investigate further. After researching that icon we presented our findings in our museum that we ran in our classroom at the end of the term. We hope you like them.

Farewell to our good friend and classmate Lereagan!

On the last day of term two, Room 7 had to say farewell to our classmate Lereagan. He is moving to the other side of Auckland with his family. We will miss you Lereagan and we hope that you enjoy your new school!

Piha and Anawhata's trip to the Marae

On Monday 28th of June, Piha and Anawhata pod went to visit our local Marae, Hoani Waititi Marae in Glen Eden. This was a follow up to our unit based on the Marae, where we have been learning about a powhiri and Maori protocol. We had a wonderful day and we were treated to a real cultural experience while we were there.
